About This Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how information may be collected, used and handled when you visit this website, contact us through it or place an order. BemerPemfTherapy is the name under which this website and online store operate.

It applies to information handled through this website. It does not cover external websites or services that we link to, which operate under their own privacy practices.

We may update this policy when the website's services, providers or data practices change. Please read it together with our Terms & Conditions and Shipping & Returns policy.

Information We Collect

The information handled through the website depends on how you use it:

  • When you contact us: the full name, email address, subject and message you enter in our contact form.
  • When you place an order: your email address, name, billing address and country, and phone number if you choose to provide it, together with the products ordered, prices and the order's status and history.
  • When you leave a product review: the name, email address and review text you submit. Your name and review may be displayed publicly with the product.
  • When you browse: technical information your browser sends automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, along with cart and session details that keep track of items you add to your cart.

You do not need a customer account to place an order, and customer account registration is not currently offered through the website.

How We Use Information

We use information for purposes connected with running the website and our store, including to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide customer support;
  • process, fulfil and manage orders, including sending order-related emails;
  • operate the cart and checkout, and maintain and improve the website;
  • understand, in general terms, how visitors reach the website and which visits lead to orders;
  • help protect the website and our customers against spam, fraud and misuse; and
  • meet applicable legal, tax and accounting obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.

We do not currently use information collected through the website to send marketing emails or to show personalised advertising.

Orders and Customer Information

Our store runs on WooCommerce, the e-commerce software installed on this website. When you check out, the details you enter are used to create an order record in the website's database, which we use to process, deliver and support your purchase and to keep business records.

Checkout asks for your email address, name, billing address and country, with phone number optional. Order confirmation and status emails are sent to the email address you provide, and a notification of each order is sent to us.

Information about how you reached the website, such as the referring website or campaign, the page where your visit started, the number of visits and your device type, may be stored with your order to help us understand which visits lead to purchases.

Payment, shipping-rate and tax services operate only once they have been set up for the store. Where no payment method is available at checkout, an order cannot be completed through the website.

Contact Forms and Enquiries

Our contact form, provided by the WPForms plugin, asks for your full name, email address, subject and message. Details of the page the form was sent from are submitted along with your message.

When you send the form, your message is delivered by email to the store's email address so that we can reply. The form is not set up to keep a copy of submissions in the website's database. Your message will, however, remain in our email inbox and may be processed and retained by the email systems that send and receive it.

The form uses spam protection built into the plugin, which runs on our website rather than through an external CAPTCHA service. The plugin also keeps basic statistics about how the form is viewed and used, such as view counts and how long the form was visible, in the website's database.

Please do not include payment card details or other sensitive information in your message.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website uses cookies and similar browser storage. These include:

  • Cart and session cookies: when you add an item to your cart, WooCommerce sets cookies such as woocommerce_items_in_cart, woocommerce_cart_hash and a wp_woocommerce_session cookie, and stores cart details in your browser, so that your cart and checkout work. The session cookie currently lasts about two days.
  • Order attribution cookies: cookies beginning with sbjs_ record how you arrived at the website, such as a referring website or campaign, your current and first visit, and your browser type. Most are removed when your browsing session ends. If you place an order, this information may be saved with it.
  • Review cookies: if you leave a product review and choose to save your details, cookies remember your name and email address for your next review.
  • Sign-in cookies: used only when someone signs in to the website, such as our administrators.

We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies from services such as Google Analytics or Meta.

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cart and session cookies may prevent the cart and checkout from working.

Payments and External Providers

No online payment method is currently enabled on the website, so payment card details are not collected through it at present.

When payment methods are enabled, the options available to you will be presented at checkout. Payment details may then be collected and processed by the relevant payment provider under its own terms and privacy policy, and we will update this policy to describe the providers involved.

Shipping carriers and any tax or address services used for the store may likewise receive the information needed to deliver an order or calculate charges.

Sharing and Service Providers

Running the website involves other organisations. Information may be shared with or received by:

  • Google Fonts: the website's typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser information when a page loads.
  • WordPress.org: WordPress may load emoji images from WordPress.org's servers, which then receive your IP address and browser information.
  • The services used to host the website and to send and receive our email, which store and transmit website data and messages.
  • Payment providers and shipping carriers, once used for the store, to the extent needed to process payments and deliver orders.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business. Product reviews you choose to publish are visible to other visitors.

Data Storage and Security

Information collected through the website is stored in the website's database and in the email accounts we use to run the business.

We take reasonable steps intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, including restricting administrative access to the website.

No method of transmitting or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe information you provided to us has been compromised, please contact us.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including fulfilling orders, providing support, handling returns and warranty questions, and meeting legal, tax and accounting obligations.

The website does not currently apply automatic deletion periods to order records. Contact form messages are kept in our email inbox for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of our correspondence. Cart session data is temporary and normally expires after about two days.

If you ask us to delete information, we may need to keep certain records, such as order and transaction details, where the law requires or permits us to do so.

International Data Handling

We are a US-based online store that also serves customers in other supported countries. Information you provide may therefore be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate, which may have data protection laws different from those where you live.

For example, Google Fonts is delivered from Google's servers, which may be located outside your country. We will handle international transfers of information in accordance with the laws that apply to us.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights in relation to your personal information, such as requesting access to it, correction of inaccurate information or its deletion. Some laws provide further rights, such as objecting to or restricting certain uses, or receiving a copy in a portable format.

To make a request, please use the form on our Contact page, describing your request and the email address you used for your order or enquiry.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some requests may be limited by legal exceptions or recordkeeping obligations. We will respond within any time required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to a data protection or consumer protection authority where you live.

You can also manage cookies through your browser, and you can choose whether to leave a product review or save your details when you do.

Children's Privacy

This website is intended for customers purchasing equipment and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the website, please contact us so that we can review it and, where appropriate, delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website, our services and providers, or legal requirements. The current version will always be available on this page, together with the date it was last updated.

Where a change materially affects how we handle information we have already collected, we will provide notice and, where required by law, ask for your consent.
